David Placek
CEO
David Placek is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer of BDP Holdings. He is an experienced real estate investor and developer with more than 20 years experience investing in more than $4.0 billion of real estate throughout the United States, including visionary projects Uptown Newport in Newport Beach, California and Lackawanna Plaza in Montclair, New Jersey. Mr. Placek’s expertise and experience includes the acquisition and development of millions of square feet of commercial property and over 30,000 units of residential property including developing, investing, financing and rehabilitating mixed-use, retail, office, industrial and multifamily properties in more than 30 states. He also has substantial experience with properties having environmental concerns or complicated legal and tax issues.
Dave’s experience includes leading Shopoff Realty Investments’ east coast development platform as well as the national commercial investment platform. Prior to his tenure at Shopoff Realty Investments, Dave was a Director with DRA Advisors, LLC – a national leader in real estate investing. While at DRA Advisors, Dave sourced and managed investments throughout the United States and also served as chairman of the company’s Valuation Committee. He started his career at Ernst & Young, working in the firm’s Irvine, California; Sydney, Australia; and New York City offices. Dave, along with his wife and three children reside in Montclair, New Jersey and is very active in educational and art related initiatives within the community.
Matt Meskill
EVP Acquisitions & Capital Markets
Matt Meskill is our Executive Vice President of Acquisitions and Capital Markets, where he is responsible for sourcing and structuring investment opportunities and overseeing the firm’s capital relationships.
Prior to joining BDP Holdings, Matt spent more than 15 years originating commercial mortgages for multifamily and senior housing properties nationwide. His extensive background in real estate finance and capital markets brings a valuable perspective to BDP’s investment strategy, combining a disciplined analytical approach with a strong
focus on relationships and long-term value creation.
Matt lives in Montclair, New Jersey, with his wife and three children. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and staying active in the local community.
Adam Lefkowitz
EVP Asset Management
Adam Lefkowitz is Executive Vice President of Asset Management. He is a senior real estate executive with nearly 20 years of experience in asset management and operations. At BDP Holdings, he partners with ownership, architects, engineers, and contractors to lead renovation initiatives, enhance portfolio performance, and implement operational efficiencies that drive long-term asset value, optimize asset performance, and streamline operations across the portfolio. His background in retail strategy shapes a customer-centric perspective on how spaces are designed, activated, and experienced.
Nate Burns
SVP Development
Nate Burns is Senior Vice President of Development and brings more than 25 years of experience in land development, leading design and entitlement efforts for complex redevelopment and ground-up projects. He specializes in navigating technical, regulatory, and community-driven challenges to advance projects from concept through execution.
With a background in planning and landscape architecture, Nate provides strategic leadership across project strategy, entitlements, consultant coordination, and regulatory approvals, delivering innovative, community-centered development outcomes for BDP Holdings.
Laura Jenkins
Controller & VP Finance and Human Resources
Laura Jenkins is our Controller & VP of Finance and Human Resources. After graduating from Ramapo College of NJ, Laura began her career in private equity working on a diverse range of funds and investments including private securities, derivatives, SBICs, venture capital and various co-investment structures. Eventually her path led to real estate where she’s worked on properties from several asset classes in all stages from entitlement through stabilization. Laura has 20 years of experience in financial services including 12 years in the real estate sector he specializes in data integrity, financial oversight, liquidity management and waterfalls.
Michael Dubin
Senior Director Arts, Culture & Lifestyle
Michael Dubin is our Senior Director of Arts, Culture & Lifestyle at BDP Holdings, where he leads creative partnerships that bridge artists with meaningful cultural and commercial opportunities. With over 30 years of experience in arts, music, and media, he leads creative partnerships that connect artists with impactful cultural opportunities. His work emphasizes collaboration, storytelling, and the belief that art plays a vital role in shaping vibrant, connected communities.
At BDP, Dubin oversees the development of strategic creative partnerships and cultural initiatives. His background in communications and project leadership allows him to guide complex creative initiatives from concept to completion while maintaining a strong narrative and visual identity throughout. A graduate of Loyola College in Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a minor in Photography, Dubin brings a rare blend of cultural fluency and operational insight to his role, ensuring that every project is executed with integrity, clarity, and impact.
Georgia Varidakas Simoes
General Manager Lackawanna Station
Georgia Varidakis Simoes is our General Manager and Director of Events at Lackawanna Station, where she leads operations, leasing, marketing, and large-scale event production across the 100,000 sq ft independent retail and cultural hub.
With over 20 years of experience in event production and retail activation, she specializes in building high-impact, community-driven experiences that champion local and small businesses. At Lackawanna Station, she focuses on producing inclusive, accessible events for all ages and abilities, transforming the space into a vibrant destination rooted in connection, creativity, and economic opportunity.
Wade Korbel
Associate - Acquisitions
Wade Korbell is an Acquisitions Associate and focuses on the company’s acquisitions and asset management initiatives. He has experience in underwriting, due diligence, market analysis, and portfolio oversight, and plays an active role in property
management, leasing, and tenant relations across the firm’s portfolio. In this capacity, he supports both the operational execution and long-term investment strategy of the company.
Prior to joining BDP Holdings, Wade interned at a commercial real estate brokerage firm in Manhattan, where he assisted with market research, financial analysis, and transaction support for investment sales. This experience provided early exposure to institutional real estate transactions and capital markets activity.
Wade graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Oregon.
Mia Rodriquez-Vars
Associate - Development
Mia Rodriquez-Vars is a Development Associate. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Yale University. She is driven by a passion for thoughtful, strategic design that transforms spaces into meaningful places. Mia’s experience includes zoning analysis, schematic design, tenant improvement projects, and architectural rendering––supporting projects from early concept development to visual presentation.
